Doesn't matter. You can do it first or the same time. It is supposed to optimize the fuel map a little with the PC on a stock bike anyhow. So either way you aren't loosing. Its only when you put the exhaust on first will you realize it will bog down with No PC3

Do you have a power commander already? Unless your going to dyno the bike and are racing it, you will most likely never know the difference with or with out the PC.

I have an Akprapovic full system and PcIII but never actually programmed the thing. I just downloaded the map onto the power commander yesterday but have yet to test ride it. It's way too damn windy with debris flying everywhere in socal for some reason so i will let you know if it makes any difference.

I have an erion slip on, no bogging or any problems here. Plan to get a PC3 eventually though. I've heard nothing but good about them, stock or modded. I guess they make the bike run much smoother.

No I don't gota PC now, but I would like to get one down the road. One of my buddies was telling me that I would hear back fire when I down shift with my slip-on on the bike without the PC....I dunno about that but it doesn't make much sense.

You're right, it doesn't make any sense. Don't worry about it.
Sorry, I meant it to say that "I" plan to get a PC3, you'll be fine

My cousin ran a highmount micron slipon on his '02 without a PC3 and it sounded awesome and never had any backfiring. He also hada K&N filter too which richens the mix a little. Backfiring on decel is caused by a sudden lean condition.
