Default Disconnecting Power Commander

Hey guys/gals,

A buddy of mine dropped his '03 600RR a couple weeks ago and is selling the bike. He's selling me his power commander. I'm going to head over there soona nd pick it up from him, the only thing is that hje had the unit installed by a shop. I have never installed one myself and am unsure as to the procedure to disconnect the PCIII. Wondering if you guys could just give me a heads up on what to expect and what I'll need to do. Thanks for the help.

Default RE: Disconnecting Power Commander

I`m basing this on my 1000RR so may be a little different...

Should be no longer than 20 mins,

First remove the rear pad & cowling section easy as 4 bolts, then riders seat, then tank cover.

Then undo the front tank bolts and pivot the tank back so its upright an get either a buddy or some bugie straps to hold it up for ya,

The pc3 will be connected to the injector rail connects they have a small clip on the body which enables you to undo them mine has 2 rails its the lower rail connectors you want, also on mine inside the top left fairing panel is another connector for the (tps) throttle position sensor.
Once you`ve disconnected all these reconnect the originals which should be in there, i taped mine up when i fitted the pc3, Trace the wires up and out from under near the tank and seat unit and disconnect the pc3`s earth/Ground connection from the negative on the battery. then just trace the wires and pull them back out towards you, carefull that you don`t get any of the connector plugs stuck on the way out.

And job done, you may find these handy to incase i`ve missed anything.....
