Default power commander IIIr vs power commander III

first of all i just wanted to tell all of you out there that you guys are awsome. i am new to the forum and i am just loving all of this information that i am getting from reading your threads and replys. but the real reason i am writting this thread is because i read here on this forum that i can buy a dyno jet power commander IIIr for 200 shipped from 58cycle.com. and the dyno jet power commander III is 350. i just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with both of these. i know the IIIr can adjust timming. but why is it so much cheaper than the III?

Well if the difference is 150.00,I would get the PCIIIr and use the remainding 150 towards a custom map.I have the PCIIIr and do not have any problems plus I like the idea about changing my timing whenever I want.

the main difference is the timing feature, the pc3 allows a finer adjustment capabilities the pc3 you can make changes every 250 rmp's and the 3R you can only adjust every 500 rmp's(pretty sure it's 500 anyway).

I just got the pc IIIr yesterday. I should have it hooked up today and have it down at the dyno and tuned next week. I will let you all know how it goes. Im hope to hit at least 130 rwhp. But who knows what will happen.
