Default coolant leak

I have a question. I have an 07 cbr 1000 and when I ride when it is cold I get an antifreeze leak. It leaks onto right fairing lower. No leak if its warm outside. I have tightened all hose clamps. Is this normal? My sons 06 1000 does it also. Thanks.

Hi. Antifreeze is notorious for finding leaks! You must have somewhere for the leak to come from, so I'd start with the hoses. Try bending them to see if that reveals any splits. Either that or you have porous castings or as faulty water pump. It could be anywhere in the engine block, where the water circulates around to and from the radiator. You could try adding a product to the water that cars use for sealing leaks, but unsure about the suitability for motorcycles. Other members may be able to advise.
