clutch question
hi, all
recently got a used engine (nc29 400) that im using in my off road buggy.
the clutch is missing though and i am waiting for the guy to send me one.
my question is can i run the engine with no clutch to see if it's a runner or not or will this damage it?
as it might be a while before he gets off his **** and sends it
also is the clutch from the 600 the same as the 400? (as i know where there is a spare one from a 600)

Honda uses the back of the clutch outer to drive the oil pump on many bikes. Probaby safest to wait unless you know there is a different oil pump mechanism.
Looking at the fiches of the 89 CBR600 and 90 CB400 (same engine as you have I think), the clutches look very similar. Some part numbers are different, but part numbers are sometimes different for different markets (nc29 was a JDM). Worth a shot.
