Clutch question
I've about had it with my shuddering clutch. So I'm going to order new friction disks and steel plates. If I'm correct there is only three friction disks and two plates along with unsplined plate and an judder spring? That seems a couple plates and disks less then I expected.
I'm going to replace the springs as well. The GTS clutch is butter smooth and the CBR clutch is like washboard compared to it.

RE: Clutch question
Excellent! Yeah I actually read the text of the manual rather then looking at the pictures. I just ordered up a EBCclutch kit, 5 springs, inner plate and judder spring along with a new gasket and bolt. $102 shipped. I have a feeling I have a bad spring or something that causing it be grabby. It's more of an on-off lever rather then a nice smooth release.
I'll post my results when I'm done.

If it's that cheap, you can afford to replace more that you need, 'Stray Captain'

RE: Clutch question
mine needed steel plates...well they were burned to hell so i got out some steel wool ect.
grabbyness on a clutch refers to the clutch basket being worn like when it dosent release all the way when you pull it in.
i got the kevlar ebc with stiffer springs for $98 total
and as a tip soak your plates and if you get down there with the steel wool clean the steel plates off again and then dip them in nice fresh oil before you stick them in there little dark spinning hole.

RE: Clutch question
Mark, I'm a if it's not broke, don't fix it type of guy. However it would bite to get it all apart and have to put back parts that aren't 100% right.
I'm going to take a good look at the basket to make sure the splines are not buggered up. If so.... I'll be ordering some more parts. 8-|
