Default clutch problem i think?

hey guys first time poster and bike owner. i had just reciently bought an '89 cbr 600 with either 21000 or 121000 miles. im not sure if the cluster rolled over or not. the bike has no front fairings or cowl or anything on it. just the tank and a tail section from an '06 600rr.

anyway, i was riding the bike yesterday getting a feel for it and i began to think it was getting low on fuel, so i parked it in the garage till yesterday afternoon. yesterday i went to mess around with it, and when ever i would let the clutch out the bike would stall. only if in gear. even superslowly letting the clutch out with plenty of throtle.

so after i played with the clutch adjustment i have it now where it will roll forward if i hold the clutch 3/4 out, but if i let it out completely the bike will instantly stall.

does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? its the orignal clutch and cable as far as i know but it doesnt seem like a slipage issue.

also, i reciently changed the oil and filter with yamaha 10-40 motorcycle oil. thanks guys

Sounds like a sidestand switch gone bad ... but I didn't think they had them on '89s.

Problem fixed. Sidestand switch was completely unpluged along with another plug. Lesson learned, check all conections before freaking out lol. Thanks.
