Default clutch problem!

my clutch is grabbing nice and everything, no sign of wearing, so iam in 1st gear then i pull clutch in to shift into 2nd and the clutch cable goes dead.. i inspected the cluth cable and its not broke nor streched...the little black thing that turns on the clutch cover is very easy to spin. now, is a spring broken inside of my clutch? the litle black thing on the cover has not alot of tension on it. thank you!

Default RE: clutch problem!

without seeing it, the only thing that i could think is that there should be a bracket that holds your clutch cable on top of the right engine cover. its held in by two bolts. it should have a nut on both sides of the bracket, holding the cable in place. if the nuts get loose or back off, the clutch seems disfunctional because there is too much slack for the cable to move back and forth and it doesn't engage the clutch. i would say just check that bracket.
