chain lube
Hikeetech,
I believe chain lube is more of a liquid and chain wax is more of a sticky substance that has less of a chance to be "spun off". I use a Repsol brand Chain Lube that I bought at a Honda Dealership and it works awesome. But it is a Lube not a Wax so I wipe the residue off. I have to say ditto with the rest about the $$$. I will spend the extra $3-$4 to get a qulaity lube/wax instead of a new chain. The cost outweighs the benfit. If you opt for the cheaper, off-brand stuff, you could risk your o-ring or x-ring deteriorating sooner.

I would love to try DuPont dry wax lubricant but I just couldn't find them here in stores. I ended up getting a can of Castrol chain lube at Walmart, and hopefully it will do the job. Do you guys think if it's a good idea to spray some liquid wrench white grease after I lube the chain?
I used the Castrol stuff and my whole undertail is chain lube. I like PJ-1 blue label the best.
Why don't you just use Gear oil 80/90? I have used it on all my bikes over the last 48 years without any problems. Occasionally in the sixties I used to take the chain off (long before endless chains!) and after curling it up into a ball I'd place it into a can of heated chain grease. This used to get into all the pins and rollers and was a bit like the spray greases of today. Having told you all that I wipe my chain with a rag, brush on gear oil 80w and it lasts for around 500 miles. Gear oil is an extreme pressure oil and that is why it is used in gearboxes. There is no need to waste money on commercial brands. A bottle of gear oil 80/90 will last you a long time as you are only brushing it on. Try it!

If you soak the chain in the gear oil 80w make sure you hang it up with some string or wire to let the excess drain off into a bowl or whatever. Alternatively, wipe it with an old rag. When you brush the chain when it is on the bike in the future, brush the oil onto the lower chain run and concentrate getting it onto the side plates. 'O' ring chains only need the sideplates to be lubricated. Paraffin is a good medium to clean your chain prior to lubricating it again.
