chain lube
Your owner's manual recommends SAE90 (or maybe 80W-90) gear oil. Web Bike World recommends DuPont Teflon Multi-Use Dry, Wax Lubricant (or at least the writer/editor says it's his favorite; see: DuPont Teflon Chain Lube - webBikeWorld).
There are also a number of folks, some with _lots_ of roller chain experience, that say to run them 'dry' (meaning don't ever lube them). Think about how an o-ring chain works for a while before you dismiss that perspective.

I used liquid wrench for a while; it seemed kind of thin, but it could work. Based on recommendations, I changed to the Teflon stuff; seems to work well. I've also tried the PJ-1 Blue Label, and that was OK.
Honestly, it's hard to tell between one brand and another. My chain doesn't clunk, grind, snap or rust, so I guess it's all good.

Yeah, i got mine at walmart too. I found the basic DuPont teflon lube. But then passing through the motorcycle section, they had a DuPont Teflon chain lube specifically for motorcycle/atv/dirt bike etc... And that seems to work fine for me. About every 2 weeks or so, I'll give it a LIGHT spray, to the point to where, the motion of spinning the tire dries it before i can see it fully applied. I don't spray hardly anything at all. So far so good here.
i went to honda and got a can for $7.00 and it works good. i think that you can find something cheaper but how much are you gonna save, $1 or $2 . at least with honda i know that it is what meant to go on the chain on my bike.
I couldnt find any Dupont lube in my local Canadian Tire store. I will try Walmart tonight to see if they carry it. If not, then I might just go buy a can of liquid wrench chain lube.
