did you charge the battery? some new batteries dont come charged. if it is charged, check your fuses, 30a main fuse in particular. after you get it started, check your charging voltages to make sure its good.

I bought a new battery for my 1000f this spring. It started great, but then, after a short ride 15 minutes or so, I stopped at a store. When I came out the bike would not start. It turned out that I had the leads connected; but the screw that holds the lead to the battery was not all the way tight. (mine was actually loose). After I tightened the lead with a phillips that I always have in the tank bag, the bike started and has been fine ever since. Just a thought.
