... And I don't mean beer buzz problem... that's not really a problem at all.

Ok, so I just picked up a '99 CBR F4 and after waiting 3 weeks for the shop to do a carb clean and sync, I finally got the bike back, and went on my first ride. And all I can say is that I just about wet my pants it was so fast. Mind you, my first bike was a Ninja 250R.

Now, down to the real question. from about 5,200k to 5,500k in every gear I have a high pitched rattle. I assume its just one of those annoying rattles that develop. Does anyone else have this problem, and have located where it comes from?

 

There are so many bits in the fairing that can cause a buzzing sound, I found with my bike that I had to go over a few things & try different remedies. Biggest offenders where the fuse cover on the right side of fairing, & the inserts on each side of the screen. Any noise is going to travell up the fairing via the screen as well, so it gets a bit frustrating. its trial & error really. Or buy earplugs.

 

on mine there are 2 metal tabs on the front fairing, right around the 2 little intake nozzles that rattle. Almost sounds like a keychain rattle

sounds like it could be your cct as well. it would come from the right side of the engine, just above the clutch case. i would try to find out where the noise is coming from before blaming one thing though....
