I'll just say my two cents on the matter and tell my little story.

Some people say do it yourself, but if you aren't familiar with bikes, you should definitely take it to a shop to get it done. Why? Because IF something is wrong/loose/about to fail etc, you don't have the eye to catch that sort of thing. If something does fail on a bike, it could mean life or death in many cases.

When I took my bike in for the 600 mile service, they found my starter was defective (and I had NO idea it was) and replaced it for me. They checked all the bolts on the frame, replaced the oil, filter, adjusted the chain (as well as cleaned and lubed it), checked all the electrics and suspension components as well as tires and air filter.

But they only charged me $80 bucks for the service (which is $50/hour labor and the oil & filter.) $200 is a little pricey. I would ask around where a good shop is and take it there. I found that other than my dealership (which is about an hour outside of town, but they're AWESOME), there is a KTM dealer in town that is AWESOME as well. When I need something done quick, they're the place I take it to.
