blowing starter fuses

I have a 2005 RR (16,000 miles) and it keeps blowing starter fuses. It only happens at idle after i ride hard. It happened the first time a couple of weeks ago, and hasn't happened until this evening, probably 500 or 600 miles later. It happened twice tonight, so i rode home easy and when i got to the garage i turned it off and it started back up again. I'm thinking an electrical short somewhere, but i am a bit confused where to start the trouble shooting since it only happens after i rip hard. Electrical is not my forte so any advice simple or not will be taken gladly. Thanks

Its a little confusing when you say your starter fuse only blows at idle. the fuse actually blows out while the bike is at idle?
Id this is the case, it is very odd. There shouldnt be any voltage going through the starter fuse relay unless your starter button is depressed.
Is it possible it blows out after you start it? If this is when it happens, it might be a bad starter pulling too much voltage to crank it over.
Also, check to make sure you have the proper rated fuse.

yeah the fuse is the right size. little red 10 amp. i have a pocket full of them now so i dont get stranded.
previously when the bike had died i was pulling into the driveway. when i depressed the clutch the bike died. So i checked the fuses and the starter fuse was blown. The second time the bike died i was in neutral pulling into the gas station, and the third time the clutch was depressed when i was turning around.
i will look into the starter. that sounds like a good hypothesis.
