Default bike won't start

the bike is a 1980 honda xl250 with a kick start. the bike is getting spark and fuel at least to the float bowl. the compression seem fine since it is still a pain to kick start it. had it started yesterday then when i went to start it again it just would not start. any ideas

try a little bit of starter fluid spray it into the spark plugs or the air filter if it starts up at least you know it still starts up and something isnt horribly wrong

i tried some starter fluid to rule out the no gas possibility and it still didnt start. so if a bike has fuel and spark then the only thing left is compression right?

are you gettin good spark tho, i had spark plugs that still sparked but it was a weak spark and wouldnt start the bike so changed em out no problems, you could always try to roll start it on a hill

now that you say that, the plugs do not spark as bright as i am used to on a car, i assumed it was due to the bike being a 6v setup. i'll give that a try.
