Hey guys, I've finally got th majority of my maintence and parts installed but im still having problems. My bike is an 89 cbr 600 which is modified with a v&h slip on, and a drilled air box. Im not sure whether or not it has been jetted. Anyway, this last week I was finally able to get my bike onto th rode thanks to my new tires and carb cleaning, but the bike wont go past 8k whick makes it difficult to ride since im missing a large chunk of my power band. I have a new air filter and fuel filter in the mail which should be arriving within the week. I also need to have my carbs synced since im not sure of true status

If anyone has any idea on the cause of my problem please share.

Don't everyone jump in at once now. I can elaborate on anything if it isn't clear enough.

 

I just cleaned my F2's carbs and it is running great! It was only hitting on 3 cylinders and wouldn't rev at all. Followed the carb cleaning link here and it's kicking ***. 2 years of sitting with untreated fuel in the float bowls.

I am having this exact problem after having my carbs cleaned and synced, also put in new k&n air filter with whole akrapovic exhaust, turns out my jets are too small, 122, stock I believe are 133 so i dont know what the previous owner was up to, Ive jumped to 138 now and that should solve the problem but I wont find out untill tommorow. Make sure to check your jet sizes while cleaning your carbs just to make sure!

 

Fyi changed the jets and runs like a dream
