Default Bike acting crazy...

Well. Let me say first that today was the second day I started riding my F3. Been restoring it for almost two years now and the mother f'er starts running like crap. Anyways, it's hard to explain. Everytime I give it gas I'd say maybe above 5000 rpm it goes crazy. It almost acts and sounds as if it has a power band (like on a dirtbike) but no power. Don't know if its a carb issue or what. Wasn't doing it yesterday. The only thing I did was put some fuel conditioner in today that's it. I have no clue.

Well I talked to a few people and they said it sounds like my clutch is slipping. I wouldn't think it could be the fuel additive. Although it was a Suzuki additive (joke) haha. I bought a repair manual. It says "if the engine sounds like it is winding out without accelerating, the clutch is probably slipping. Some of the main causes of clutch slipping are: a. worn clutch plates b. weak clutch springs c. no clutch lever freeplay d. loose clutch lifter bolts e. damaged clutch lifter f. engine oil additive being used and the clutch lever plates are contaminated." I did adjust the clutch lever but I doubt it's that. I guess I could check the freeplay again. It looks like I'll be putting it away once again for the winter.

a few of my buddies had the same problem, one had a broken clutch spring bolt and the other had broken clutch plates... the other one wrecked his before we could get to the clutch so it could be any or all of what you mentioned... and yes they all rode gixxers... hahahaha
