Big POP when started!
So I made a bone head mistake today and tried to start the bike 2 times in the off switch position. And when i flipped it on and started it, it made once big pop and then was fine from there after. Its a 94 F2 just was wondering what I did and if I disrupted anything, even just a little bit?? Figured i'd turn to the pros.

All you did was put unburnt fuel into your exhaust and perhaps a little flooding in the carbs ..
The pop you heard was just all that fuel going up in the wrong place ...LOL
Usually that will cause no damage , but occasionally, if she blew out through the carbs ? it can blow the carbs manifold rubbers or bend the choke ..
You also can blow an exhaust gasket if the pop was huge enough out the exhaust ? but you will soon hear it after you restart her if she has ...
If she is starting normally now after you having got her clear and running again , all should be quite ok ...

I doubt that you did any damage at all. Just loaded it with fuel and the excess popped when it did fire up. If you did it all the time then you could see some issues eventually. But once or twice not a problem. Actually, I'm surprised the excess fuel didn't just flood it out for 5-10 minutes. You must have a heckuva spark in that thang
