Default Getting Started

I just purchased a 92 cbr 600 f2 very cheap and knowing absolutely nothing about bikes. But it was dumped on its side about 2 months ago and was never started since then. im goin to pick it up shortly and was wondering how to turn the fuel line on, off, and reserve? Also since it has been sitting for 2 months with no stable in it, will i most likely have to clean the carbs if it doesn't start up?
thanks for the help

look on the left side you should see a shut off valve switch its black and you can turn it. All the way down means its on normal. Side to side is off and up is res.

two months isn't that long it should be fine but a carb cleaning never hurts. or full tune up while your at it. Bike will run better and you will be learning at the same time

since it fell over i would suggest pulling the carbs and giving them a good once over. mine fell on a trailer the other day and i think it cause one of the float bowls to stick so im gonna pull them off. but it shouldnt cause it any problems firing up unless it damaged the stator or broke the spark plugs or something.

yeah if you change the plugs, clean the carbs and put fresh gas in the tank it should fire up quick once the fuel gets to it. Always double check to make sure you are getting gas from the petcock when your trying to start your bike up after working on it. Thats been my problem a few times haha

Have some jump leads to hand in case the battery is flat, turn on the fuel as described above and give it a whirl. DOn't bother cleaning anyting until you've tried starting it. If it doesn't start then you can delve into the guts of her a bit more but at least try it first.
Good luck.
Let us know how you get on.
