Default Bearing a few questions.

Well a few weeks ago while in the process of adjusting my chain I discovered this. A few of you may have seen this pic before who knows.

So today I took the entire lot through and got a bitchin Dunlop Roadsmart for £103 fitted. Now happy with this I set off home with hopes of getting it back on the bike so on the next nice day I could take the bike through to a shop to get a new chain+bearings.

Alas, all didnt go as planned. The first thing I need identified are these babies that were the first thing to fall off when I removed the rear tyre.

Second bearing is this thing. The bearing has totally collapsed, when I removed the 4 bolts on the disk brake as soon as I hauled it off all the ***** rolled out. Thats all that remains of what I managed to pry out.

The rusty bits on the right are what remained of the bearing. The cush blocks appear fine, they're not rock hard and theres no sign of rot so Im going to put those ones back in. I left the tyre in the back of my jeep for a few days which has eaten the disk brake but I dont think the moisture did that to the bearings.

One thing that I couldnt do at all was get the 6 bolts that hold down the sproket off and I stopped after a soft hammer wouldnt budge them. I think someones went a bit mad with the locktite.

The bearings on ebay appear to be the ones that you can see in the centre of the rim in the pic above. I havent managed to pry these out yet, im not even sure they come out.

I honestly dont know my *** from my elbow when it comes to these bearings. All the wavy disk brakes on ebay that claim will fit a 91' CBR F2 appear to have 6 bolts (might just be a generic display pic). I really want to get the back end rebuilt and improved as the bike sitting in bits in doing my head in!

Should I admit defeat and box the lot and take it to a bike shop?
I honestly dont know what I need to order and If theres anything special I need to do such as balancing ect when fitted.

Any help muchly appriciated.

Check out ronayers.com or any Honda site where you can look at the microfiche to see all the parts for your bike. Look up the part numbers then use the internet to find the size of the bearings. You have 2 bearings in the wheel, 1 bearing in the sprocket hub plus 2 dust seals to replace. Also you should replace the spacers in your second pic since there are grooves in them where they fit inside the dust seals. If you have no experience with this stuff you should take it to someone who does. DO NOT TRY TO PRY them out. They have to be removed with a bearing remover or carefully knocked out from the opposite side to keep from damaging the wheel. From the looks of everything they will most likely be hard to remove. If you dont know how to get the bearings out of your wheel correctly you could really cause some damage to your wheel. Parts are not very expensive. Bearings can be purchased fairly cheap off the internet. Dust seals and spacers will have to be ordered from a dealer or bike shop.

Buy the parts then let someone else change the bearings. Just make sure to get the spacers on the correct side when you put the wheel back on your bike.

Right I did alot of calling about and eventually ended up calling a breakers that I frequent for bits for my CBR.

They've quoted me £220 for all new bearings, dust covers, sprokets, chain + labour. Once I get my tax rebate she's getting a complete fluid change and new sparkplugs as I havent changed them since I got the bike.

Happy now.
