Battery Question
My buddy has an 08 CBR600 that he bought new. Recently he has had problems with the bike dying on him while riding it. He took the bike to an advance auto and they said everything checked out fine. He then took just the battery to our local dealership and they said the battery was also fine but just needed charged even though he just took it off the battery tender. If he starts the bike more than about 10 times in a row the bike dies, which would mean to me that the battery is weak. But it checked out fine twice. Sitting battery voltage is 12.9 and the voltage drops to 8.5 to 9.0 while cranking.

could be a bad stator or rectier bust out the voltage meter and plug it into the clips for both ( one at a time and see if its getting power at all or enough power) make sure the battery is charged so the bike will run for min without the rectifier hooked up and then without the stator, check the rectifier first leave the stator hooked up and if that is not getting power or enough power unplug the stator clip and check to see if the stator is even producing power or enough power, both these have to be tested with the bike running

dont read into this too far, if a bike dont get rode enough , this is what happens. charge battery to capacity and ride longer than around the block. NOTE: a five minute ride will not provide enough recharge to keep battery topped off. repeditive start and stop will take a toll on all of these little batteries. If battery will not charge to specs , replace it.bike is too new for charging problems...JMO... good luck brother
