Default Battery keeps going dead 94 CBR 600

So I have had my 1994 Honda CBR 600 F2 for 4 years now. Around Aug every year my battery goes dead. So I take it in and get a new battery. I have came to point of being tired of this problem. I am looking for some help please! The bike has just hit 14,000 miles. When I get the battery tested they tell me it is down to about 6-8 cells (Not good) I have been putting more miles on at night this year and have noticed that the lighting system dims from time to time and will jump back to its previous state when ever it feels like it. Does anyone have help. Frustrated and just want to ride! Also at this mileage should I take the bike in to get the vales adjusted? Thanks in advanced for your help!

Since you are down on cells, I would lean towards your rectifier not properly converting the AC to DC power. when this happens, it can short out the cells in the battery.

Having said that, how are you taking care of your battery when its not in use? During the winter, if you just leave the battery in the bike in cold storage, it can drastically limit the life of the battery. its possible, if you don't remove the battery and put it somewhere warm, that those cells are dead from being frozen. A battery with dead or shorted cells can cause all sorts of issues, including dimming your headlights at times.

If you taking care of your battery, and you are having cell issues, I would lean towards the rectifier needing replacement.

valve inspection is usually around 16,000 miles. However, I'm not 100 percent sure what the factory suggests on that model.

Also, check out some of the other threads on the forum. I think there are threads about using a gsxr rectifier on the F2 and F3 bikes as they are much more durable.
