Default new F4i; dead battery???

I just bought a '06 CBRf4i about a month ago and so far only have ~200 miles on it. I was doing my regular practice in a parking lot and after I accidentally killed the engine (uphill throttle/clutch drill) it won't start again. It was late (~10 pm) and had the bike towed back to my place. The question is: What the f@#k happened? Is this normal for new bikes? Another question will be: Will the extended warranty cover this or perhaps the dealership? I didn't try jumpstartin' the bike as I read some bad stories about doing this.
Just wondering if I messed it up unconsciously or just a battery issue? Let me know your thoughts guys!! Thanks in advance!

Don't jump start it with a car - car batteries have high amps. Get a 12v trickle charger from walmart or where ever and disconnect the battery cables, in case there's any funny business from the charger, and hook it up. It should fire right up afterwards. You can also pop start it, just have to let the clutch out really slow.

Yes you can, just make sure you have the key on. I tried push starting it one time with the key off and i felt like an idiot.

All i do is run next to it in second gear and when im getting ready to pop the clutch I jump on the bike and give it a little bit of gas and it starts right up.

I had the same problem. I had just got back from getting my licence and some boys came over to go on the first run and the bike wouldn't start... After much frustration and cursing. We tried to jump it...No luck. We tried to pop start it...No luck. It was however the spark plugs... Are you getting any noise from the battery at all? I guess with sport bikes they don't like being started for 2 seconds to show your buddy adn then shut back off again it's hard on them.. You should run them for a few minutes like 10-15. Good luck. Matt

My brand-new CBR 600RR was giving me trouble just four days ago followed by yesterday when the bike would not start up at all. When I would leave a stop in first gear, it would lurch forward a bit and it even shut off a few times. So I pull the battery and charge it up, using a cheapo charger from Wal-mart and low and behold, I got the bike running good for awhile. However, after my 45 mile ride, I began to feel it acting up once more, with me loosing power after waiting at a light and in the middle of a turn. Once again, it hesitated and lurched forward a few times before I got enough throttle to keep moving and get me home. I had a similiar problem on my Magna when one of the battery terminals was not fully connected so it did pretty much the same thing. Now I might have to get a new battery for a brand-new bike. My 600RR was an '05 leftover so who knows what sort of service the original factory battery received prior to my purchase?

I bought a black and decker trickle charger (~$25) at walmart, hooked up the battery for about 3 hours and it solved the issue. Thanks for the post guys!
