Default Battery draining, possible leak

Hi guys, my 99 CBR 600 has been behaving strangely lately. It drained one battery which was kind of old so I replaced that. Lasted about a week before the bike wouldn't not start unless push started. Now I have done searches and this sounds like the typical case of bad regulator/rectifire, except, the previous owner installed indiglo gauges and everytime I turn the right turn signal on the gauges will automatically turn off until I cancel the turn signal. Is it possible that there is a bad ground somewhere? and what tests can I perform? I am not an electrician by any means but if its not rocket science I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty

There have been so many posts about this one, I went through the same process, its your regulator.
Just to make sure check that the wires on your battery are installed correctly, but my money is on the reg.
