bad fuel pump? please help.

bad fuel pump? please help.
I have 2008 cbr 1000. When i turn on the key there is no familiar sound of the fule pump priming. All of the indicators on the dash light up. If i push the ignition the bike will start but once the ignition is released it dies. Any help is appreciated.
