Default Any LED ideas??

Hey guys, I bought 50 led's off of ebay for $6.00, can't go wrong atleast price wise. I want to use them to act as neons. I have enough resistors for each one. What I currently did: Took 20 of the orange LED's and wired them into pairs to form 10, then wired the ten LEDs in a series (i think tht's right) of off a main power and ground wire coming from the battery. The 12-volt application resistor was wired in on the positive side before the swith. Anyways, when the LEDs are on, you can see them, but only if you actually look inside my fairings. I want to have that neon/glowing effect. If there is a way, or it isn't possible at all, how can i get them to shine brighter? Any ideas and/or comments are more than welcome.

Get a reflector, Radio shack should sell them, if not lowes, HD, or even a crafts store. Its the thing that your taillight is housed in in case you don't know what Im talking about.

remove the resistor, a single led usually takes .8V to 1.8V and with a series of ten and only 12V going to them you are blocking current they need to be brighter.

Okay, after looking at everything, I came to realize that they are actually wired in parallel. One thing I was thinkin about too, is that maybe since the lenses are clear, they won't glow as much.

they should glow brighter being that they have less tinted glass to go through.

Go to JoeFlorida's website, I installed 22 LED's I bought from him off of e-bay. He gives you step by step instructions and has some of the best lights i've ever seen. As long as all the lights are wired together (all positives and all negatives which sounds like you did) then each light should only draw approximately .003 milliamps. They'll run from the fuse, to the on off switch,to the neg. and pos. of the battery. I'll send you some pics of my bike at night... you can see it glowing from a mile away -the thinglooks like a monster! And to the comment from OKIEZAC-- They are not NEONS, they are custom LED (Light EmittingDiode) show lights, and they happen to be one the best way's to trick out your bike and make it stand out. Don't knock somebody elses idea's because you're to lazy to take the time to do it yourself. Show some pride in your ride. Anyway, post some pics of your bike when you get done ilikemybike7. GOOD LUCK[>:]
