Default Another Start Up Post

Hey guys, I am having more and more trounble starting up my 94 f2. I really dont want to abandon the f2 for an earlier fuel injected model but sometimes getting my bike started is just plain embarressing. I plan to take it to the shop when I can but I am trying to do some things on my own. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it.

Ya sorry I remembered later I should have put some more.... well i have changed oil, spark plugs, and battery. At first it seemed it might be the temperrature but its not. When I go to start it in the morning I used to just put the choke down all the way and it would start within 3 seconds. Now I sometimes have to give it gas for it to start up. I hear the churning sound of the starter motor, but it just doesnt fire sometimes. There hasnt been a time yet where I just couldnt start it but I am worried.

My 99 is the same way sometimes. espically if it hasnt been started in over a week. My bike wont even start with the choke all the way down.....I have to slowly move the choke down to keep it running, if I push it down too fast then it just dies.......

That is what I dont like about carb bikes......FI is so much easier just start it up and dont have to worry about the choke. or the carbs getting all gumed up.

You might want to try a fuel system cleaner to start w/. It sounds like your not getting enough gas for it to start cold. Try running 1 can of sea foam (almost any auto parts store) thru the tank, but only a couple ounces at a time. Give it two or three tanks worth of treated gas before you give up on it. If that does no good, i would consider taking the carbs off for a good clean/rebuild/sync.
