Default Accidentally put diesel in my 929

SONOFA! I can't believe I just did that. I was going to go out for a little ride and already had a few gallons in the tank. I thought I had some gas from my mower in a can that I could empty into the 929 and as soon as it came out, I stopped. It was red diesel for farm tractors that I have for a bulldozer we run at our place in the country.

My question is, do I need to drain the tank even though there was already regular gas in there and I only put a quarter cup of diesel in at most? I didn't turn the key on or let the fuel pump whine.

Opinions?

If you fill is the rest of the way with gas, it will probably dilute it enough. You should be OK.

But if it were mine, I'd drain it and put fresh gas in it. (but I would put the mix in my car )

Thanks. I'll drain it. I would hate to wreck my baby.

I wouldn't worry about draining it perfectly, if I were you I'd just do a suction set up...put a jug big enough for the fuel tank to empty into beneath the bottom of the tank, put a hose in the tank and then bend it so that the other end is beneath the bottom of the fuel tank. Suck on the lower end with your mouth until you can feel/smell/hear fuel running and pull it out of your mouth and put it over the empty jug.

The fuel should drain out just fine without having to take the tank off or mess with fuel lines and at that point you should be able to fill it with gasoline and it'll be fine.

Or if you don't want a mouth full of gasoline/diesel...get a syphon with the little hand pump...i use it, its cheap and easy...no gas ingestion either.
