Default 95 CBR 1000 F won't start without choke.

So my hurricane won't start without a little choke on her. She will sit and grind out a battery without choke, but I give her a little love from the choke and bam she starts right up and I can take the choke off and she runs great. Idles at a nice 1100 RPM and smooth as hell. So it would appear that the problem is not enough fuel getting to the carb... valves, carb rebuild, etc? What do you guys think?

O btw it is over a hundred degrees and she still requires choke...

Thanks in advance.

If you're refering to an initial, first start from cold/over-night, this is typical.
Ambient air-temperature is irrelevant to the initial warm-up/starting of the engine.

If you're refering to, starting from a warm engine, you might try a tune-up, if it's been awhile.

Yeah my bike is a 97 and she wont start at all without choke (and a tiny bit of throttle sometimes) unless she is still warm from a ride.

I had the same thoughts when I was new to bikes, didn't think I had to use
choke in the middle of the worst summer heat...

Can you upload a video or something of how a Hurricane sounds when it
idles smooth as hell? Would really like to hear that

hi. I don't think anything is unusual with your bike requiring choke during a cold start up, especially as you say it starts ok once it has run hot for a while. Most engines are 'cold' regardless of the outside temperature, so choke may have to be used even if for a short time or to just get the bike running. I notice my fuel injected 2002 cbr 600 always starts at high revs, but they come down quicker in the warmer weather. When it is cold, the engine revs at 3000rpm for ages before settling down to a nice tickover at 1100-1300 rpm. Try not to worry and as long as it starts your a winner!
