Default 2004 F4i

Hello,

I just picked up my buddies 2004 CBR600 F4i, because it was about to be repo'd. I know nothing about sport bikes and need some help. The first question is where can I find a service/owners manual to download? Im needing to know a bunch of little things, like what octang gas, what kinda chain lube, oil? Clock is wrong and need to set it? What are all the diffrent lights on the insturmant pannel? What I really need is his owners manual, but since hes locked up he cant run home and find it for me...LoL

Is there anything I need to look for? Just replaced the rear tire. Needs brake pad. Anything else as far as mantince?

Thanks guys. This is a great site for newbies like me!

I think you can download owners manuals from the Honda website directly, or search Ebay for a copy..all the bike needs to run is 87 Octane, but I put 91 in my bike..

Thank you sir for the info. Just a few more question. When I turn on the key the oil lamp flashes, but when I crank the bike it goes away. Is this normal? Also I was told that when on low beam only one bulb is s'posed to be on and on high beam they both come on. Again is this right?

Thanks again!

Well dude, you picked up a great bike. Where to start? Yes, there is only one headlight on when the low beams are on. The oil light flashing is normal as long as it goes off after the bike starts. To set the clock 1. Turn the key on. 2. Push and hold the top button on the dash until the hour starts flashing. 3. Use the bottom button to set the hour then push the top button to get the minutes to flash. set the minutes then turn the key off. It should be set. As far as fluids and filters go, don't be cheap. Use Honda parts. They're made for that bike. I don't know if they work any better but I feel better using them. I run 91 octane but that is a choice. It'll run on either. Check the front tire for wear. Check the tire pressure everyday before you ride. Check the drive chain tension occasionally. check the oil level daily and the coolant in the overflow. Other than that just ride safely and enjoy the bike.
