Default Fork dampening

Anyone know what the adjustment on the top of the forks do?
something to do woith travel of your shock/fork?

I notice mine to be a bit stiff can i adjust this?

ON FULLY ADJUSTABLE FORKS..which I dont know what you have on your bike..the big NUT is for SPRING PRELOAD which will make the fork stiffer or softer, the little screw on top of that is the rebound damping (how much it resists bottoming)and the screw on the backside of the bottom of the fork is the compression damping (how fast it comes up)

About how many turns and what way to turn and give it a test ride u recomend
