2003 CBR600rr motor in a 2001 CBR600 F4i?
I am looking at buying this guy's 2001 CBR600 F4i for $600. The fairings were just repainted, it has a clean title, the frame is straight, forks are good, and it has everything, it just needs to be put together. Problem is the original motor threw a rod, so he bought a 2003 CBR600rr motor for $1,200 with 5,000 miles on it and was going to out it in his CBR, till he found out that the motor mounts needs to be longer. Is this true? He offered to throw in the motor for $200 more, and I just want to make sure that if I get some longer motor mounts professionally welded on, it will fit in the frame.
Thanks for any help, and feel free to offer your advice.

Yes an no, it is possible, but its alot more work then just motor mounts. If you get the bike, get the motor too and resell it to make some cash to buy an F4i motor. 200$ for an RR motor is pretty cheap, you could probably get an f4i motor for 4-600$ and ressell the RR for 6-800$, hell some one here might even have an f4i theyd trade you.
in the long run, if everythng for the bike is there except the motor, 600 isnt too bad, providing it is straight and everything works.
