Question Need a Chain

Hey Guys,

I just recently bought my first bike a month ago and recently the chain is lookin somewhat "used."

I had some buddies look at it and they think it needs service. I'm good with the idea of this because I wanted to put a new one on immediately anyhow. My question is, do you guys have any recommendation on what brand/type I should get?

I'm riding an 06' 600RR.

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: Also, If you think it's a good idea, should i get a new sprocket set for the back tire while I'm at it? If so, what brand/should I be looking for? Cash isn't a problem. Thanks again for the suggestions.

I would avoid Regina chains. I've used RK and DID in gold and they both took quite a beating and held up pretty well (burnouts, drag launches, riding in northeastern salt covered roads). I like the premium DID series because they "pre-stretch" their chains and they are rated for like 9000lbs in tensile strength which is probably the route I'm taking as my current Regina chain is showing surface rust and pissing me off.

All chains rust if they aren't lubed often enough. When I was living in Vietnam it rained so often and the road was always muddy, that all exposed motorbike chain would develop rust. coastal air + rain > lube.

get something that is not made in china and has O rings. anyone know what brand is Honda OEM becuz that stuff lasts forever?

Honda uses DID and RK for their OEM chains. I'm a fan of EK Chain's. Besides having a great product, they have colored ones as well. EK makes Driven's chains as well.

DID and RK are the better brands in my experience. DID's are way overpriced vs RK. I like RK's GXW chain and AFAM superlight steel sprockets.
