Hey everyone! My buddy just picked up a 2002 F4i for a pretty good deal and we've been going over the bike fixing everything up. We've come to the conclusion we can't figure out why the gas gauge won't work. We have the service manual and we've already done the jumper wire test and it worked so my question is this. Where on the fuel pump assembly is the fuel level sensor?

Any help would be great as we are sitting here scratching our heads

 

The "gas gauge" is a reserve gauge. It only appears when you roughly have a gallon left.

 

Correct, however while we have been working on the bike we removed the tank to sand and re-paint it. We had to drain the tank of fuel and even while dead empty and they key in the "on" position we get nothing....
