Couldn't hear anything on the first video, on the second, sounded like valves to me.

12,500 miles and the valves were just checked and were all right in specs.

1000RR engines are supposedly noisy engines, or so Im told. Mine doesnt make the noises I hear some talking about, but I guess its not uncommon.

My bike makes a similar sound, but it is nowhere near as loud. The only time I ever noticed it was when we were in Daytona and we were cruising around downtown without a helmet on. Even then, it was so faint, I bairly caught it. It did seem to become noticable once the bike was warmed up, but mine almost sounds like the injectors firing. But it is at the same rpm as yours. My bike has 15,000 on it and no problems yet.

It sounds like something is loose somewhere. Possibly the cam chain tensioner?

One thing though thats not related to your question. Your bike seems to be turning over rather slow. you may have an issue there. 1000RR's do turn over slower than others, but yours seems really slow.

No it turns over very quick, I was in a higher gear than I should have been.

Yep, I can definitely hear it. It'svery apparent below 4000 rpms although still noticeable at higher revs. I don't know **** about bikes so I can't diagnose it, butlike justasquidsaid, I would consider theCCT.

Those are really nice videos, and that's one awesome place to ride at, mang.

I believe he was speakin in reference to how it starts, not idle speed. your bike sounds a little slow cranking, not like my buddy's GSXR when his battery was weak, but not the strongest or quickest starting.

the rattle you hear sounds like either CCT, or when the valves were adjusted they're at the looser end of the spectrum. I know when I adjust valves to the loose side, they make a clattering sound somewhat like a Cummins 5.9L diesel.

Thats the only thing I havent changed is the cct, the valves were right in the middle of the specs, I geuss its just a noisy engine, it runs great, no loss of power etc. Just noisy. I'm wondering if when they did the stator change for the recall if it is missaligned just a slight bit (if thats possible). Maybe that could be rubbing just a bit and making noise, I had an R1 do that but it sounded like a rod knock instead of a tick.

As far as the starting (turning over) it has always been that way.
