Default 1989 CBR carb cleaning

Hello,

How difficult is it to clean the carbs on a 1989 CBR? Should I attempt to tackle myself or just pay a professional? Is there any good YouTube videos out there for this?

Thanks,
Joaquin

That is a very loaded question. It depends on many things. Your basic mechanic abilities. Also you will need to purchase some single purpose tools. Also, and this is the biggest thing, you have to be incredibly patient. It is a very detailed and tedious job. "Good enough" can't be in your vocabulary. It's not overly complicated though. The good news is there are tons of videos online that can help as well as all the knowledge on here.

Thanks for the reply! I now realize I left out a lot in my question such as mechanic abilities which mine are average at best. I’m not super patient so this may not be the best thing for me to tackle. I got 3 young boys who will be hounding me every second of the job. I’ll check on some of the videos you mentioned and I’ll see if it’s something I believe I can handle. I saw a post from someone on this forum who detailed it very well and he provided pics as well. Thanks again for replying! I appreciate your time.
