has anyone had their carb cleaned in an ultrasonic bath? If so, where? does anyone sell a complete carb rebuilt kit with neddles...everything? I got my carbs off the bike and opened the first bowl to do a quick inspection...they're looking pretty dirty and I'm trying to find the best way to get them clean...do it myself or have a professional do it...that's the question. I've heard a lot of positive remarks about ultrasonic cleaning of carbs and I'm wondering if that is the best route...

 

Can't speak for anyone else, but at least two people I know have done this in the past and they said the bike ran like new after the cleaning. You shouldn't need new anything except gaskets after the cleaning as all the deposits will be gone. Local shop told me 5 hours total from putting bike on ramp to finish, so I figure if i take everything apart and let them clean, I may be in for an hor or two labor and save myself some $$. Need to find a gasket set myself first. (going to try lots of carb clean in the meantime.)
