Bike started the day before. I removed my battery to jump start my generator. Done it 100 times before. Re-installed battery and bike will no longer start. The battery won’t even turn on. However, the digital clock still works. Checked all of the fuses. In completely lost. Any ideas?

 

Describe all the symptoms you see and hear. What happens when you turn the key to the on/run position? Any change in the display of the gauge cluster? What is the position of the Run/Stop switch on the right clip-on near the throttle? Have you operated it a few times?

 

Literally described what happens. Nothing. The digital clock is the only thing that gets power key or no key. L

 

Have you tested your battery to make sure it's still good? It may have been fine before it doesnt mean its good now - always start with a known good battery. A battery can sometimes have enough power to turn on the gauges but not enough to start the bike

 

It still holds a charge. Multi meter still reading about 13v. It still even starts my generator. I tried hooking my car battery (not while it was running) directly to the battery terminals on the bike just to see if it will get power at all and still the same issue.

 

So, can you qualify what you mean by "Checked all of the fuses" ? The reason I ask is that there is an often overlooked fuse, the 30A fuse that is actually mounted on the START relay itself. If this fuse is blown, you'll get the symptoms you're seeing. When dealing with the battery terminals, it's really easy to pop this fuse since it's directly connected inline with the battery. It's usually hidden under a rubber cover.
