I'm new to the forum, and I've only had my bike for about 6 months now, but I need some tech help so I figured this would be a good place to go... Every now and then at idle, my bike just shuts off... If I try to start it up again, it starts up with no problem, but throws and FI code for a few seconds... Doesn't run rough, doesn't sputter before it dies, just dies... And on a side note, I think my cooling fan may be burnt out because I haven't heard it kick on in some time... At first I thought maybe it was a built in overheating precaution because the fan wasn't kickin on, but I pulled it out of the garage yesterday to run it for a bit and it shut itself off at only 97 degrees... Ideas? I don't know any good shops around the area cause this is my first bike, and I'm very hesitant to take it to a dealer cause I've never had good experiences with any of em... :-/ Suggestions would be appreciated...

 

What code did you get? Retrieve the code as per the manual. After that, we can point you in the right direction.
