Thermal shutoff?
Is there some sort of thermal shutoff that will kill the power on the bike if it's overheating? A cursory look at the schematics don't reveal anything.
I had an overheat issue on Tuesday (sitting in traffic) where I occasionally shutoff the engine. One time I shut it off, all power went kaput. I got home (via friend's pickup). The next morning, I checked the battery and the main fuse. Both seemed fine. Turned the key and I had power again.

No.
I am pretty sure the F2 does not automatically turn off unless you are in gear with the side stand down. The only automatic feature based on the thermostat is the fan turning on at around 3/4 of the temp gauge.

It wasn't an automatic shut off...I shut the bike off via the kill switch while sitting in traffic and then I lost all power. Damn...guess that means I may have a short somewhere.
