Default fuel shutoff valve

ok....this is going to be a noob question but i have to ask it because i cant figure it out. i dont know what the positioning on the fuel shutoff valve. can someone please tell me what position is on and which one is off.

Should be

Down= ON
Up= Reserve
Sideways=Off


Should be though. That's how my 91 F2 is set up

thanks jeeper. i have run mine on all positions and doesnt seem to matter. i will try to run it on sideways to run it out and see if that works. thanks again.

well i pulled a bonehead move today....i left the valve on 'off'(i know its to the side now) and it stalled at a light. when i went to start it i killed the battery. what a day!

on the hurricane or 87-90, sideways is off, up is ON, and down is Reserve.

there is a small divider in the valve that when the fuel reaches a certain point in the ON position, no more fuel will flow. so, when you turn the **** down, it causes the remaining fuel in the tank to drain and that's how it keeps its reserve.
