01 CBR 600F1i No Start
I just got this bike from a friend. He said he rode it into his garage last year and parked it. It ran fine when he last used it. It cranks but has no spark to any plug. I went thru the whole bike and found 2 bad wires that I fixed, One was to the Neutral Safety switch and one to the Oil sensor. It cranks fine but still doesnt start. I checked the codes and its giving me a cam sensor code. I am assuming the cam sensor tells the thing when to fire the coils right? Oh and the fuel pump is priming and it has good gas in it. The fuses are all good too and all connectors are tight. I believe the code it was giving me is 18.
Cam pulse generator code according to the service manual. page 5-81. I'm not 100% what the cam pulse generator does, the Ignition pulse generator is what the timing is set by, I'm guessing the Cam Pulse generator serves some other function in the fuel/igniton system. The honda manual doesn't list any technical specs or troubleshooting for that sensor itself.
Is it possible the bike has been tipped over and the bank sensor is cutting spark, or one of the other sensors like neutral or side stand sensors aren't right?

Nah, Checked all connections and bike has never gone over. Its been babied all its life. It was running fine when it was parked for the season. If its anything like a car, The cam and crank sensors control fuel and spark. The cam sensor usually controls the spark park on a car. I am assuming the cam pulse generator is just Hondas famcy name for cam sensor. I removed it and it looks just like one. I ordered one from Honda as I couldnt find an aftermarket source for one. It comes in in a day or so.
