Been thinking about doing this for a while on my ninja and cbr

if all you want to change is the missed shifts, then i believe the star is not needed. has anyone tried just the shift kit without the star? i know the star takes out the "clunky-ness" out of shifting, which would be nice down the road, but i have other things on my f2 i need to invest in before luxury items.
