Default Quicker throttle? What is the fix?

I recall seeing somewhere what people have used with success to convert the twist grip on an F-2 to a quicker turn deal. I have tried the search function with no real luck... Prepping a new to us (for my GF) bike for the track in a week and I realized you almost have to take two handfulls of the throttle when you try to go "full throttle"....or hold it with your wrist cocked all wacky...

So which throttle tube can I get from one of the major online places that will just slip on and have a reasonable rotation between on and off, so you don't have to point to the sky with your elbow then hit your toe with it to go fast?

thanks all. Don Hanson

No reason it shouldn't have. Others around here have done it as well - I think JNSR has.

It seems the trick is getting the right year R6 throttle tube - some years have more pull than others. All of them will quicken throttle response over stock on our bikes.

Do they not make a 1/4 turn throttle kit ?

Motion pro makes them for many bikes maybe they have one made up already

The oldest MotionPro's website goes back is for 1998/1999 Aprilias. Nothing older.

Those kits are also $150. The R6 conversion is about $20, and a little work with a dremel tool in some cases.

Ah I had to replace the whole set up on my 1000 to get a shorter turn out of my throttle so i guess i thought it would be the same for another bike

As mentioned already by the guys in the know, the R6 throttle tube is the quickest answer - it ONLY requires the tube, and the slight trimming you'll need to do with a Dremel will be obvious when you get going, as well as the fact that it's very easy... you will NOT need to replace your throttle housing, cables, etc. - only the tube.
Motion Pro, and other companies did indeed make quick-turn throttles for the F2, but they've all been sold and supply deleted for quite a few years, unless you luck out and find one.

I would agree with motion pro set ups. Just switched my clutch cable and housing to one and it feels like I'm a kid pulling the front break again
