Default Where do you buy your chain & sprocket?

i need a new chain and sprockets, and ebay seems to have some really cheap
packs of them, well i say cheap as in for a sprocket kit and chain its the same price if you go and buy a 120 link chain from a local shop, and have to cut it.
instead you get 2 sprockets for the same price.
anyone know about the quality of these sprockets and chains, i would like to use the bike on the track as well.

I did plenty of research on chain/sprocket brands and I eventually pulled the trigger on a 520 kit from Solomotoparts.com

They have quality name brands "kits" and were the cheapest price at the time.
I also went with a screw on master link because i didnt want the clipon style or to buy the $70 rivet tool.

I'd stay away from the cheap ebay no name crap.

Ebay= your going to have your chain come apart at a bad moment while riding. Trust me.
Dropping to 520 = no reason not to if you use a high strength chain like RK's XW series or whatever DID's version it.

+1 on sprocketcenter.com. they were very efficient and quick on emails. And I've had no problem the last few months after installation

my experience on ebay has been good. Brand names are DID and RK. I tried the EK, and they are great. My chain was made in Japan. I would definately buy the brand again. Make sure it has a either an O or X ring. I stuck with the 525 stock spec. It's thicker and heavier, but it's also more durable. It's been 10,000mi since I installed the chain, and I've yet had to adjust it.

As for your sprockets. Just make sure they are made of steel and not aluminum.

thanks guys, thats what i've been hearing is steel over aluminum with a thinner 520 set. its only 20 dollars more, i think i'll stay with the 525, the 520's are marginally better in weight reduction, but a 525 titanium is the best of both worlds.
