Default When putting on a slip on...?

When you get a slip on exhaust for your bike what else do you have to do? i know you need the power commander butis there anything ele?and if there is, how much does it cost?
I was wondering because im currently in the process of looking for a bike, and i know if it doesnt come with an aftermarket exhaust i will change it. or if it comes with an aftermarket exhaust, but i want another one, do i have to buy another PC, or do you reconfigure them? I really know nothin about this at all and really dont know what the PC does or how it works, i just know it goes hand in hand with exhaust so any help will be appreciated.

So im basically wondering is how much is the PC, and then what else will be needed and how much will that cost? And any cool info you know about PC's and exhaust will also be appreciated. Thanks.

you dont always NEED a PC. i've read on here, in many different threads......that a PC isnt necessarilly needed. idk if that is for different brands of pipes....or what. try searching the F4i threads for "power commanders" and see what you come up w/.

i have a Two Bros slip-on and no PC and i dont have a PC and have no problems.

to get the most out of your slip on a power commander is needed. To have your bike run optimally a power commander is needed. You bike will run without a power commander with just a slip on however.

A PC is certainly not needed with just a slip on. If you get a PC and slip on your horsepower gains might be 3-4, maybe. With just a slip on maybe1-2 at best, you might actually lose a couple horsepower, not noticeable one way or the other however. A slip on exhaust is for basically sound, and looks too, not for the gain in horsepower.

You dont need a power commander, I dont run a muffler on mine and it runs better than it did before.

You don't have to run a PC with a slip on. A zillion people run with just a can. Now, adding a PC will gain a few more HP's but I have heard that it really smooths out your throttle response. I have it on my wifh list, but run without one for now...no problems whatsoever.

You can run the can minus a pc ..It will run fine..I ran mine that way for awhile.
The pc may add a few ponies here or there, but the throttle smoothness it gives the f4i is well worth the money.

I'm not sure how that's possible. Have you looked inside your stock muffler? Pretty damn restrictive if putting it gently. NOTHING about that says high air flow. Anything that helps get air in or out faster will increase power on a certain level. ANY slip on flows more air than a stock can. A PC will certainly help you exploit your slip on although the gains will be small compared to a large tube header as well.
