Default putting fairings on

whats up everyone. so ive finally started mounting the fairings and sanding everything. super stoked to start paint soon. anyways. im just wondering if someone can post a pic or explain how the lower fairings connect to each other in the lower front....do you need the v shaped fairing to properly connect them? nothing on mine really interlocks, there just one tab like thing that will rest over the other lower.....

btw. i bought a wrecked bike and the fairings were already off of it...lol. imma noob, but not mechanically retarded...

the lower connects to the upper with an interlocking clip and a screw. When I had my bike apart I put the lower on first and then the entire upper.

kinda figured. the v fairing only has 3 screw holes tho. the top 2 and the bottom. on mine, the bottom screw would be screwed into the lower right fairing, but theres nothing to attach the lower LEFT to the lower right. is anyone getting what im asking here?

There are actually two screws on the bottom, one (short) that goes in from the bottom & another locking screw that goes in from the front. I think from memory that the small screw holds the locking plate in position.

On my 96 f3 the lower left has a tab with a hole and the right has a tab with a screw plate (iirrc). a Philips head twist lock screw (shown as #1 Quick fastener) holds the two together at the lowest point, then the 2 smaller upper screws in the "V" section screw into their respective tabs.I don't think I have the #3 bottom screw or i've just never taken it out... I'd snap a pic for ya but i wrecked my bike couple weeks ago and its sitting at an insurance lot currently. best of luck to ya.
