What's your track day crash percentage?
I'm at 67% here so just wondering what the future holds :P So far it's been dragged pegs and cold tires, and I've come out with just a scratch.
The one day I didn't crash, I'd decided in advance that I wouldn't. So I just concentrated on the straights and smooth cornering.
opinions?
Somehow I always thought it's the 'intermediate' group that crashes the most, rather than beginner (scared) and advanced (experienced). I sort of proved that for myself when I crashed a couple of sessions after I started riding intermediate
The track forum says

This section is for the announcement of open track days and educational riding school events.

I would say if your crashing that much at trackdays then your trying to ride outside your ability too much. Trackdays are to learn smooth lines and try to create good form, not for going ***** out racing...race days are for that. Just my opinion though, I know its hard to slow her down a bit when adrenaline is pumping.

Yikes thats really high! I've yet to crash at a track day (knock on wood). How are you crashing, too hot into a turn and low-siding? You know the old saying, 'sometimes you have to slow down to speed up'. Maybe get one of the instructors to work with you a bit.

I've been to 3, and all of them have had more than 3 crashes. One had as many as 6, that was the one I was safe.
I think it's been silly mistakes so far coupled with lack of experience. First day I wasn't getting off my bike enough and ignored scraping pegs[&:]. Last time was first lap first turn. I didn't let my tires warm up... amazing how much different the tire grip was (and I had been told that, being a school and all [&:]), even tho I was riding maybe at 60%.
That's why it's been lowsides so far, haven't fixated and run off into the woods at high speed (knock on wood). Bike took a tumble the last time though. Awesome how solid the F4i's are built. So I could ride home.
