Default What type of oil?

I picked up an 02 f4i 600 a few days ago, 13k miles. I went to the dealer today to pickup a filter and oil. I got an OEM filter, and I was not sure which oil to buy. It was between the semi-synthetic 10w-40 (gold container) or the black container which was regular dino oil. I went with the semi-synthetic. Should I not be using that?

Crappy picture, but here she is.

If anyone has any shaved/stubby front fender blinkers for sale let me know, same as rear. I don't like the large ones!

Thanks guys

Nice looking bike, very clean! I've got the same slip-on

Regarding the oil, I recently did same thing, went with castrol 10W-40 synthetic.

The front blinkers aren't that expensive, and mounting takes about 30 min. Mmmm the rear fender is a bit tricky. I'm planning on getting an undertail to replace the whole thing, gonna stick with the stock in meanwhile.

Congrats on the purchase!
Looks excellent, I have the TRS slip-on as well, only mines S/S, love it.

You might want to look into the proton or short-stalk blinkers over in ebay.
I'm sure you can find them fairly cheap.
If you want to rock a undertail to clean up the rear, look into the pimpbikes undertail with a integrated blinkers/tail-light set-up.
Clear alternatives makes a good tail-light, D2moto.com sells a smoked and clear version for bout $60-$65 bones. I've had it for the better part of a year now, no problems.
If your curious on how the combo of pimpbikes under-tail and integrated tail-light looks, check out my profile pics.

As for the oil, I use the same stuff: Castrol 10W-40 synthetic, been using the same stuff for bout 4 years now, no problems.

I've been using semi-synthetic since I bought my bike w/ 5k miles. It's now at 24k and runs perfect.

Thanks, I went ahead and changed it with the oil (semi-synthetic gold bottle w/ red cap, no moly).

Are the 2 marks inside clear the oil level area relative? I mean it's a tad (few mm) above the top mark when it's completely up, I figure it wouldn't hurt...

A little bit above the full notch is fine. Chances are after you've run the bike the first time after the oil change, the level will drop below the notch anyway. I usually do my oil change, take it for a half hour ish ride, come back and top it off.
