What type of oil should I use
Hey, I'm going to have to change my oil soon and I want to do it myself to save money. But I don't know what oil I should run and how many quarts my bike will hold. It's a 05 600RR. Also, do i need to replace the oil filter and if so which is the best?

In my personal opinion, Mobil One Synthetic is the best. Make sure you get some sort of 10W-40 motorcycle oil. I always recommend a filter change as well, but everybody has different opinions on that. Your bike takes 3.1 quarts when chaning the filter.

lmao, water, ha ha ha, I use Honda HP4 synthetic. Your best bet is to use a synthetic but make sure its for a motorcycle. Not all oils are for a motorcycle.

You can't use just water! Everyone knows you have to use the special performance sand additive to it! You can mix 3 parts water to 1 part sand for the best results... [sm=trust_me.gif]
Everyone has their own preference of oil, just pick one and stick with it, don't go changing to a different kind of oil after every oil change expecting to notice any kind of changes...

I use Repsol 10W-40 full synthetic, as determined by the guy I bought the bike from, because changing oils is not something I'd want to do. Only costs $51 a gallon...
And I use the Honda OEM filters. Call me crazy.
